Tallahassee's oldest soccer club
ABOUT SPORTING CLUB TALLAHASSEE
Is Sporting Club Tallahassee the oldest soccer club in Tallahassee?
Yes. Our roots date back to Top of Florida (formed 1982), Capital Soccer Association (formed 1987) and Tallahassee United Futbol Club (formed 1997). In 2014, we became Tallahassee Tottenham Hotspur Futbol Club, and in 2018 we partnered with Florida Elite Soccer Academy to become Florida Elite Tallahassee. In 2025 we announced a groundbreaking new partnership with Sporting JAX Foundation and became Sporting Club Tallahassee Soccer Academy.
What sets Sporting Club Tallahassee apart from other local clubs?
First, we are a non-profit club. All of our resources are invested back into our club and community. We sponsor other organizations and provide opportunities for families with financial and developmental needs. We are also the only club in the Panhandle to provide a TOPSoccer program for special needs players.
Second, our staff is unrivaled in the area. We have six full-time soccer coaches and many additional part-time coaches and paid staff members who provide more support. Our coaches attend ongoing training programs and commit themselves to the highest standards of youth coaching. They also have vast experience placing players in professional and collegiate programs across the country.
Finally, our club is focused on quality as much as fun. We want our boys and girls to fall in love with the game and reach their full soccer potential in the process. This means pushing our players to get better every day, compete against the best competition possible and learn what it takes to play beyond club level in college or professionally.

Our Soccer History
In 2014, the Capital Soccer Association (CSA) and Tallahassee United Futbol Club (TUFC) united to form a single club serving Tallahassee and the surrounding area, providing instructional youth soccer at all skill levels and ages, from 4-18 years old.
In 2016, the Top Of Florida Soccer Club (TOF) and Tallahassee Tottenham Hotspur FC (TTHFC) joined forces. TOF was the longest running youth soccer program in Tallahassee, serving our community for 34 years and counting. The merger allowed all of the youth non-profit organizations to more efficiently and effectively utilize a large volunteer workforce to provide exceptional training opportunities while creating an integrated platform for players to advance from recreational to competitive play if they so choose.
We then partnered with an honored and distinguished English Premier League soccer team, the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club (“Tottenham Hotspur”).
Tallahassee Tottenham Hotspur Futbol Club was very pleased to be the first youth soccer club in the United States to partner with Tottenham Hotspur.
2018 saw a new partnership with Florida Elite Soccer Academy, with a focus on providing every player and coach a pathway to greater opportunities. The Florida Elite model involved building up soccer in Tallahassee and creating an opportunity for every player, no matter their level. This resulted in stronger grass roots programs, wider participation, and for the most talented players, more competitive leagues.
The potential for a player's journey up the pyramid of soccer levels only grew when Florida Elite became part of the Sporting Jax family. Sporting Club Tallahassee's programs mean any youth player in the area, male or female, now has the pathway to progress to the professional level.
